The Play, Grow, Read Room at Coolspring Branch is a space for children and families to play and learn together! This space helps children develop literacy skills using five basic practices from the Every Child Ready To Read™ initiative: Reading, Writing, Singing, Talking, and Playing. This room contains a magnetic wall, AWE stations, and board books.
AWE stations are computers that provide programs for children to develop early literacy skills in English, math, science, and the arts.
The magnetic wall includes interactive pieces such as ramps, rings, cups, tubes, and balls and is a fun alternative to play on the ground. The magnetic parts make for easy construction and configurations, so your child can design their own ball ramps and explore different angles, speeds, and distances for their ball to travel!
