LPCPL Makerspace Tools
The makerspace at the LPCPL Exchange is divided into multiple zones to make finding your equipment simple. Use the menus below to explore each zone’s available equipment and capabilities. Some equipment requires completion of a safety course and staff-led training. You can begin this training in the LPCPL Academy.
Artisan Zone

Cutting Machine
Cutting machines are used to create unique and original artwork for greeting cards, t-shirts, sewing, and more! What will you create?
- The LPCPL Exchange has three Cricut® Makers available.
- You can provide your own materials as long as they are compatible with the machine. Acceptable materials include paper, cardstock, vinyl, thin wood, leather, and more. For a full list, please visit the official Cricut® website.
- To use the Cricut® machines, you must create a free Cricut® Design Space account. This account allows you to set up a project and run the machine. Cricut® Design Space may be accessed from your personal device or a LPCPL laptop or computer.

Jewelry and Leatherworking Kits
The jewelry making kits have the tools necessary to create your own rings, necklaces, bracelets, and more. You are invited to bring your own materials to work with. Each kit includes:
- Bench pin and anvil combo
- Jewelers rule/scale
- Ball-pein hammer
- Chasing hammer
- Pliers – flat, round nose, and chain nose
- Centering punch
- Wood ring clamp
- Saw blades and Saw frame
- Stitching Ponies
- And more!
Design Zone

Design Center
The Design Center has two dual-monitor computers loaded with the tools you need to create digital masterpieces. Many of these programs can create the files necessary for the 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machine, and more!

3D Printers
The Exchange has one Rostock Max V3.2 3D printer and two Sindoh 3DWOX 2X 3D printers available to bring your designs to life!
- The Rostocks can print models up to 10.75in x 10.75in x 15in high (275mm x 275mm x 385mm).
- The Sindoh has dual nozzles that can print in two different colors on a single model. It can print models up to 8.9in x 7.9in x 11.8in high (228mm x 200mm x 300mm).
- Designs can be created in TinkerCad , Fusion 360, Blender, and Sketchup, each available in the Design Zone.
- Premade designs can be found on Thingiverse or elsewhere.
- Select filament colors are kept in stock. You can bring your own compatible 1.75 mm PLA filament. Please contact the LPCPL Exchange to verify compatibility before use.
- Use of 3D printers requires an additional certification for each piece of equipment:
- Makers may reserve and use 1 3D printer at a time.
- Maximum print time is 24 hours.
- Sindoh printers can print overnight.
- The Rostock can print during open hours only.
CNC Mill
The CNC milling machine can create unique designs by removing layers from blank material. Create stamps, decoration, and more!
- Designs can be created in TinkerCad , Fusion 360, Blender, and Sketchup, each available in the Design Zone.
- You can bring your own compatible materials. Please contact the LPCPL Exchange to verify compatibility before use.
- The following items are just some of the materials that can be milled with the MDX-50 benchtop CNC mill: ABS, POM, Nylon, Plastic, Foam, Modeling Wax, PVC, Plywood, Hardwood, and Acetal.
- Makers do not need to remain on the Maker Floor for the duration of their CNC jobs.
- The CNC machine can only run during open hours only. (For long jobs, the machine will be paused at close and resumed at open the following day if requested.)
- Jobs cannot be run over the weekend.
- Makers must book the CNC machine for the entire duration of their job including any time the following day if the machine will be paused overnight.
- Makers will consult with a staff member if a job length is longer than 10 hours
- Use of this equipment requires an additional certification.
Laser Cutter
The Exchange has two laser cutters capable of cutting a variety of materials.
- Designs can be created using Inkscape, Google Draw, and CorelDraw, available in the Design Zone.
- Acceptable materials include paper, wood, cork, acrylic, foam, and certain types of metal. Please contact the LPCPL Exchange to verify compatibility before use.
- Dremel Digilab operating capacities:
- Engraving Area: 1467 mm x 304.8 mm (18.4” x 12”)
- Cutting Area: 508 mm x 304.8 mm (20” x 12”)
- Max Engraving Height: 32 mm (1.25”)
- Max Cutting Height: 6 mm (¼”) wood and acrylic
- Epilog Fusion Pro 32
- Cutting area: 32” x 20”
- Use of this equipment requires an additional certification for each machine.
Soldering Stations
Soldering creates strong, permanent bonds between two or more electronic parts around a connection.
- Circuit boards are available to practice. Beginner kits will be available once certified.
- Two soldering stations are available for reservation.
- Solder and soldering irons can reach temperatures as high as 900° F. These irons are specific to electronic parts.
- Use of this equipment requires an additional certification.
Fiber Arts Zone

Heat Press
Use the heat press to transfer images with heat transfer vinyl onto a variety of materials!
- You can bring in your own cut vinyl or use one of our cutting machines to create your own design.
- Bring in your own materials to transfer vinyl. These can include, but are not limited to, t-shirts, tote bags, onesies, ball caps, and coffee mugs.
- Flatbed heat press is 11”x15”
- In addition to the Flatbed, other attachments are available for a variety of transfer opportunities. These include Cap Attachment, Mug Device, and Plate Attachments.
- Use of this equipment requires an additional certification.
Sewing Tools
The Exchange offers different types of sewing machines for a variety of projects.
- The Consew is an industrial sewing machine that can be used on tough material like denim or leather.
- Traditional machines are available for standard materials.
- A serger (aka overlock machine) is available for finishing seams and seaming knit or woven fabrics.
- Sewing stations include irons, mats, thread, fabric scissors, seam ripper, marking chalk, pins, and a tape measure.
- Rotary cutting mats and rotary cutters are available for use.

Sound / Video Zone

Audio Studio
Record music, podcasts, or other audio tracks and mixes in a soundproofed space. Studio space is reservable after an initial one-on-one introductory class. Equipment available for in-studio use includes, but is not limited to:

Video Studio
Create professional photos and videos in an equipped and maintained studio. Studio space is reservable after an initial one-on-one introductory class. Equipment available for in-studio use includes, but is not limited to:

Use the drill press to drill precise holes in your project.
