It’s the question on everyone’s mind – when is the library re-opening? As you might expect, the answer isn’t simple…. but we have a plan!

Safety First
First, we must ensure your safety and the safety of our staff so we are not quite ready to open our buildings yet. The library’s staff has been working since the Stay at Home order began. Our work has certainly been different. We have been busy making sure our virtual location is fully stocked with resources and programs for you to enjoy.

Staff is also training on our new safety procedures for material handling practices and training on the new services that we will begin offering soon. (See below for exciting news!)

Please remember that if you still have library materials at home, those are not due yet and will not accrue late fees. You may return items in the outdoor book returns but feel free to hold on to your materials until you hear otherwise from us.

Curbside Pick-up
We are planning to restart our curbside pick-up service! Beginning May 11th, we will begin by calling customers who already have items for pickup ready on our shelves to see if they would like to use the curbside pickup service. Then during the week of May 18th, we will open up the service to other customers. Keep an eye on your email, our website, and social media for further details.

We’ll See You Soon!
Thank you all for your patience and your messages of support during this time. We are proud of the work we’ve done to continue bringing you library services while our buildings are closed, and we’re proud of all of you for continuing to make safe choices.

Stay tuned for more details on our phased re-opening at laportelibrary.org We will see you again soon!
