“What My Grandparent Means to Me” Essay Contest

30 Aug “What My Grandparent Means to Me” Essay Contest

Do you have a grandchild who could write an essay about you or another grandparent? La Porte County Public Library and Brentwood of La Porte are sponsoring an essay contest on “What My Grandparent Means to Me.” It’s due on SEPTEMBER 1 because we need time to read the essays before the prizes are awarded on Grandparents Day, September 11, at a 2:00 reception at Brentwood. To enter the essay you may email it to mhedge@laportelibrary.org. A basket from Texas Corral will be given to the winner of each of the three age categories, 2nd-3rd grade, 4th-5th grade, and 6th-8th grade. All essay writers present at the reception will receive a coupon for a free Squeeze Freeze at Family Express. Grandparents and families of the essay writers are also invited to the reception in which the winners will read their essays and finger foods will be served. Reservations for the reception may be made by calling the library at 219-362-6156 by September 8.
