What is a Bullet Journal?

21 Sep What is a Bullet Journal?

What is a bullet journal? As quoted from the official bullet journal site, a bullet journal “can be your to-do list, sketchbook, notebook, and dairy, but most likely, it will be all of the above.”

Why am I extremely curious about bullet journals? Because my whole life I have struggled with finding the perfect planner/calendar/journal for me. Why do I love the thought of a bullet journal? Because I have this half-used, hard-to-follow, planner sitting on my desk that is just begging for attention and love. Because I always think about writing a list before I go to the grocery store but never do. Because I wish I could remember when I had my last haircut. Because I have about 18 planner apps on my phone that promise ‘total life organization‘.  (All of which take at least a 3-credit college course to maneuver through and none of them truly meet what I need for my life.) I need a ‘one-stop shop‘ that works how my brain works, and bullet journaling sounds like it fits that mold. It’s organic. You can start right now! All you need is a beautiful, empty-paged notebook. (maybe I will incorporate some of my other favorite office supplies, like my beloved colored pencils.)

**Important Note**
If what you are already doing works for you, then stick with it. But for those who struggle, why not give it a try?

However, if you decide you want to try a bullet journal, here is my NUMBER 1 TIP:
Learn the BASICS of bullet journaling on the BulletJournal.com site.  Watch the video, read the blog.  Attend our class on Bullet Journaling. Start there.  ***Don’t go to Pinterest yet, don’t get overwhelmed on Instagram.***

Bring your notebook and pen and an open mind to the bullet journal philosophy, and start down your own path to organizational success.
