by Elizabeth Adams

Glen Wade has been a volunteer with the LPCPL Exchange for the past few months. As a retired Marine and journeyman plumber with experience in maintenance, ironwork, and welding, he helps people at the Exchange by sharing his expertise on numerous topics, in particular with woodworking and woodturning projects.

Why did Glen decide to become a library volunteer? He loves interacting with new people and after meeting other volunteers and learning more about the LPCPL Exchange, he was excited to be a part of helping others learn by sharing his expertise and skills. He says, “the Exchange is my happy place. I love it here.”

Glen has a passion for lifelong learning and loves to dive into projects and learn along the way. Glen has also taught himself how to sew, knit, and make projects on the Cricut® machines, among many other things! He hopes to learn how to design and create something on the CNC machine in the near future.

Glen is excited to serve as a mentor to other makers at the Exchange and is available to assist individuals with their projects or questions on Tuesdays from 12:00pm – 3:00pm.

Do you have a special skill, hobby, or other passion? We are always looking for volunteers interested in teaching community members. Check out our Volunteer web page to learn more.
