LPCPL Exchange

Teens! Use and grow your creative skills to make or design items that play a role in helping with community needs!

Use and grow your creative skills to give back to the community. Teen ChangeMAKErs will explore ways to design and create handmade items that have the potential to positively impact the lives of others in the community. There will be a focus on repairing and repurposing to make the most impact for people and the least impact on the environment. Join us and put your creativity to use for good!

Exchange staff will train and assist teens in projects they can make/do to contribute to the community. With the spirit of service in mind, teens can gain sewing skills, learn how to 3D model, learn to design and make things with wood lathes and laser engravers.

We encourage all participants to earn Maker certification. This requires a waiver signed by a custodial parent (for ages 12-18) and a general orientation to the building, safety guidelines, and information about training on makerspace equipment.

Julie, Elizabeth, and Kaiti are LPCPL Exchange Community Learning Librarians leading this group.
