Did you know that Kanopy, the library’s video streaming service, has a bunch of workout videos you can stream for free? It gives you access to great ways to stay active while staying in your home. Search the “Sports and Fitness” section to see not just documentaries on various sports and sports topics, but guided lessons in everything from chair yoga to martial arts.
All the videos listed below can be found on Kanopy. You have 10 checkouts per month which are used once you hit the play button of a video. The checkouts, called play credits, are refilled at the beginning of the month. Gymnastics for Children (52 minutes)
Coach Amy Eggleston teaches essential techniques for preschool through level two gymnasts. Among the topics covered are warm-ups, how to fall, skill progressions and drills for tumbling, balance beam, bars, and vault. These skills are incorporated into two fun obstacle courses to build confidence and correct techniques, as well as improve strength and coordination.
