31 Oct Seriously Creepy Reads

It’s October and just like the arrival of Pumpkin Spice flavored everything, it’s time to read some creepy stories. To help you get in the spirit (get it?), here are some fantastically creepy books to check out.

The Diviners Series by Libba Bray

New York City in the 1920s was a swinging place. A group of teens discover magic powers and a super dark evil lurking beneath the surface of the city. There are two books in this series (so far) and each one will kidnap your sleep for weeks.

Through the Woods by Emily Carroll

This illustrated collection of short stories is well written and effective in making you seek company. Each story tells a small horror that is enhanced by Carroll’s truly disturbing illustrations.

-Slasher Girls and Monster Boys by April Genevieve Tucholke

Several authors brought their best horror chops to this short story collection. The stories will stay with you for days and each one packs a twisted punch. You will never look at birds the same…

And the Trees Crept In by Dawn Kurtagich

Two sisters seeking refuge from their abusive father, move to an old mansion with their eccentric aunt. At first the manor feels like a true haven for the girls. Soon disturbing things start to happen that shatter their security. The mansion is a foreboding place that will engulf you.
