Eating healthy can be hard with so many temptations surrounding us daily. there are a lot of great resources to get you started. These resources use expert guidance to teach you about healthy eating and nutrition. See below for free nutrition resources to help you eat better!

Dietary Guidelines for Americans

This webpage has links to the full Dietary Guidelines for Americans document (which teaches people how to shift to a healthier food lifestyle), as well as a summarized version with tips to learn the basics of healthy eating habits. 

Choose My Plate by USDA

Created by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, this website has an app that goes along with it to make it easier to encourage healthy eating. You can choose your “audience” on the website so that it shows age-appropriate nutrition information that can be understood by all ages.

This resource has links to many of the other resources mentioned in this blog, with links to many more helpful resources that help you explore nutrition and healthy eating.

The library also has a variety of healthy eating cookbooks for all dietary restrictions, so you can make delicious recipes that are good for you! We even have eCookbooks on healthy eating so you don’t have to leave your house to get access to great recipes! eBooks can be accessed for free on our Libby and Overdrive apps which can be downloaded here
