Overdrive is releasing an update in early 2020 that impacts the way we manage holds in the Libby app and on the Overdrive app/website. We’re here to guide you through this update, and we hope you’ll be excited about the changes.

First, you can check out this hold re-delivery video from Overdrive that explains the process. Below, we’ve also included screen captures of what the update will look like on a mobile phone. You’ll now have the opportunity to “re-deliver” the item if you’re too busy to read it at the moment, or if all your titles come in at once! This function holds your place in line for the title but allows someone else to view the book for seven days before you have another chance to check it out.

The recently added push notifications for mobile devices that will let you know when you have an item ready to check out. This is all in the interest of helping you get your titles as quickly as possible, and have time to read them.

Look for these changes in the coming weeks, and as always, feel free to reach out to any staff member for assistance with our digital services.
