Zoom is a cloud-based meeting tool that combines video conferencing, online meetings, and mobile collaboration into one. This is what we will be using for our virtual classes. They will be easy to access through the Events on our Home page or accessing the Events link on our website and finding the class you are interested in joining.
A link is provided in the description of the class that will link you directly to the online Zoom meeting. You will only be able to see the librarians during these virtual events.
You do not need to create an account if you are just attending. All you will need to do is follow the prompts. Once you are in the meeting, here are some helpful tools available to you:
You can click on the Mute button in the corner to mute your sound while others are talking. Click it again when you would like to say something. You can click chat to see the conversation happening by presenters and attendees. If you’d like to be addressed, you can choose to Raise Hand. Click Q & A to see questions and answers on the discussion.
Depending on your device, some of these options may appear a bit differently, but they will all be available. This is a fun time to try something new. If you have problems accessing the virtual events, you can call 219-362-6156 option 2 for assistance.
