Big Library Read (BLR), facilitated by OverDrive, is a reading program that connects readers around the world with the same eBook at the same time without any wait lists or holds. It’s easy to join this worldwide digital version of a local book club, and the program’s free through the La Porte County Public Library OverDrive-powered site or Libby app – all you need to get started reading is a library card.
For those new to BLR, this book club happens three times a year and involves a wide variety of titles. OverDrive aims to provide at least one title in nonfiction, adult fiction and young adult fiction throughout the year.
The last BLR title for this year is Five Total Strangers by New York Times bestselling mystery author Natalie D. Richards. This book is about a road trip in a snowstorm that turns into bone-chilling disaster.
Five Total Strangers will be available in eBook and eAudiobook formats for unlimited access between November 1 – 15 for the duration of the lending period.
And readers can use #biglibraryread on social media for a chance to win a tablet, Libby swag and signed books by the author. See the official rules.
The first BLR title in 2021 (The Art of Taking It Easy) generated 14 checkouts during its event period. The second BLR title (The Quiet Girl) generated 42 checkouts during its event period. Let’s try to beat those numbers with this page-turning thriller.
Happy Reading!
