Kingsford Heights Library partnered with Purdue Extensions to secure a grant for a community garden in Kingsford Heights this summer. The garden is located on the corner of Grayton and Edgemoor Street, near the storage units. Community members are provided with a plot and expected to tend to their own vegetables. The outside edge of the garden is a U-pick area and provides vegetables for anyone in need.

In addition, the garden committee provided pots, soil, and plants to the library to grow a salsa garden. Library staff members Sis Thompson and Harold Walker have successfully tended to the little garden all summer and look forward to a bountiful harvest. Stay tuned to the events tab for more information about a gardening event later in the growing season.
