During these days of civil uncertainty and unanswered questions, we find ourselves looking for information or ways to connect with situations. Some may look to movies as a way to learn about areas we have limited knowledge of. They can help us get a better understanding and have a greater sense of what is actually happening in the world of social injustices. Movies allow us to see the world through others’ eyes and see things in a way we may not have been able to otherwise.

Kanopy, LPCPL’s video streaming service, has curated a collection of films that illuminates social and systemic injustice. These films can help to provide you with a better understanding of issues and facilitate conversations about race, racism, social injustice, and activism. Also, in celebration of Pride Month, Kanopy has curated specific films to honor the LGBTQ community. In addition, a collection of newly added movies and documentaries are highlighted, credit-free collections are still available, and so much more.
