During the month of April, the Library is hosting a series of online book discussions. Book discussions will be on Thursday evenings at 6:00pm and will typically last an hour. Discussions will focus on these titles:

April 9 – Normal People by Sally Rooney

April 16 – The Alice Network by Kate Quinn

April 23 – The Woman in the Window by A. J. Finn

These titles are available as both ebooks and audiobooks without holds or waitlists for all library customers. That means everyone is immediately able to access them throughout the month of April.

Discussions will happen over Zoom, a video conferencing software. You can register in advance for the series and attend as many of the book discussions as you choose. Register here.

What happens in the discussions on Zoom? For this series, there will be no video from anyone–just join with audio from your device or call in with your phone, just like in a teleconference. No one will see into your home–no matter how clean you’ve gotten it while staying at home! Librarians create and share a slideshow of discussion questions to encourage everyone to share their thoughts and perspectives on the book.

If you have any questions about the Virtual Book Club, accessing titles, or using Zoom to participate in the book discussions, don’t hesitate to call the La Porte County Public Library to speak with one of our librarians.
