Play, Grow, Read! Early Childhood Literacy Spaces

Play, Grow, Read!

Parents and caregivers are a child’s first and best teacher. The La Porte County Public Library’s ‘Play, Grow, Read!’ spaces and Early Childhood Literacy Classes help assist children in developing literacy skills using five basic practices from the Every Child Ready To Read™ initiative: Singing, Talking, Playing, Writing, and Reading. Library Educators lead several classes throughout many library locations.

In order to provide these events in-person, the guidelines for social distancing must be followed. Registration is required so that we can maintain these standards. All attendees older than 2 years of age must also wear a face mask.

If you do not feel comfortable attending in person or have an underlying health condition, please check our online calendar of events for online storytimes.
