Let us help you find a healthier you this summer and beyond. With the support of the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte, we will be offering many “Healthy You” events that provide exercise opportunities and support learning about health.

Did you know that about 60% of questions at the Help Desk relate to health and wellness? The community recognizes that the Library is a partner in healthy living. Healthy You connects library customers to easy to understand health information and introduces them to accessible and easy forms of exercise.

Join us this summer for a weekly walking group and yoga classes and for a kayaking event this July. At Walk with a Doc, you will learn more about different health topics and take a 20-minute walk with a local doctor or public health educator. The weekly yoga classes are geared towards adults of all ability levels. The kayaking event, in partnership with the Northwest Indiana Paddling Association, connects new and experienced kayakers to an easy and accessible form of exercise.

When you attend a health and wellness class this summer, not only will you enjoy excellent instruction and a community of support, but you will also receive a water bottle or beach ball, and you will be entered in a raffle to win a bike or kayak.

Visit our online Calendar of Events to find our Healthy You classes.
