EXCITING NEWS!
March is National Craft Month and we are celebrating! Introducing Creativebug, the newest tool in your library’s toolbox of creativity. Customers can enjoy an all-access, no-boundaries pass to thousands of online art and craft classes on Creativebug with your LPCPL library card.
WHAT IS CREATIVEBUG?
Creativebug is the go-to resource for high-quality, on-trend arts and crafts instructional videos produced by renowned artists and creative experts. The instructors bring a lifetime of practice, passion, and proven teaching methods along with the basics every maker needs to learn. People of all skill levels can work alongside them to learn craft techniques. Class offerings ranging from sewing to papercraft to holiday décor.
Creativebug’s platform is simple and intuitive, with features like chapter divisions, note-taking tools, 20-second rewind, clear instructions, materials lists, and more.
PROMOTION AND GIVEAWAY!
La Porte County Public Library will offer Creative Kits in March to promote the launch of Creativebug. These kits will highlight a specific Creativebug tutorial and have materials and instructions included. Each project will have a limited number of kits and will be available beginning March 1 while supplies last. (Due to limited quantities of the Creative Kits, we are asking that a household request only ONE Creative Kit).
Last, but not least, we are thrilled to announce “Get Creative with Creativebug,” a giveaway celebrating our Creativebug launch. By completing the Creativebug training on the LPCPL Academy of Tutorials, under the LEARN tab on the right side of the website home page, you will be entered to win a Cricut® Maker electronic die-cutting machine, or one of two Joann Fabric and Crafts Gift Cards. The contest runs from March 1 through March 31 and is open to individuals 14 years of age and older who have a La Porte County Public Library Card. Library staff and families are not eligible. The prizes must be picked up within a week or we will hold another drawing for that prize. We encourage all participants to share their creations or inspirations on the Library’s social media pages.
