Want to learn more about your family history? Interviewing an older relative is a great way to get started! I taught a canvas art class at our Rolling Prairie Branch earlier this month that introduced participants to some genealogy research basics. Working with an older relative, children painted some gorgeous family trees while learning about their ancestors.
With the Indiana Bicentennial right around the corner, it’s a great time to reflect on our history. A Boy Scout Troop even attended to earn a family history badge! I loved overhearing the great conversations – one family realized they were distantly related to the group working next to them as the class progressed. This was a great family and community event – check out their awesome handiwork!
