Do you have an upcoming event that needs a little custom flair? The Exchange Makerspace has Cricut® Maker machines—the perfect tool to help you create those personalized invitations and decorations.

Last Spring, a maker named Tracy used the makerspace Cricut® machines to customize 50th anniversary party invitations. She prepared designs using the Cricut® software, then cut shimmery gold vinyl to add to the printed invitations.

But Tracy didn’t stop there. She also cut butterfly shapes out of watercolor paper. How clever! Then she invited younger family members to paint and decorate the butterflies to decorate the space for the celebration. What a fun way to get everyone involved!

Staff at the Exchange makerspace are ready to help you learn how to use the Cricut®. You can stop by for a tour and information any time during open hours. The LPCPL Exchange is located at 807 Indiana Ave in La Porte. You can also start your training online with the Cricut® Use and Safety course and the Official Maker course.

Just imagine all of the DIY paper and vinyl projects you might create once you get started!
