La Porte County Public Library presents Dial-A-Story. The newest offering in our collection of services bridges the digital divide since it does not require any special software for you to download to participate, it only requires a phone.

LPCPL Dial-A-Story has something for all ages. When you dial in you will have a choice between a menu for adults or a menu for children. The stories for children will change bi-monthly, except for the longer chapter book option which will change monthly. The children’s jokes will change every week. For the adult stories, there are two classic stories and one poem that will change every month. The adults will have riddles with an included answer in the recording that will change weekly. Both the children and adult menus have a” leave a suggestion” voicemail option for you to leave us a suggestion of a story or a joke. Your suggestions may be featured on future Dial-A-Story selections.

Our Dial-A-Story phone number is 219-217-5678. Save this number in the contacts section of your phone for quick access on the go.

Interested in being a guest reader? Please fill out our Guest Reader Form. One of our staff members will reach out to you to schedule a recording date.
