The Library would like to take the opportunity to recognize our 2021 Summer Interns for Indiana Intern Day, which is on July 29th! We value them and the impact they’ve had this summer at the library. Please take a moment to learn more about the interns and the work they did.
Grace is a Community Engagement intern over at the new Exchange building. She spends her time working in the Makerspace, prepping for programs, creating StoryWalks®, 3D printing, laser cutting, and assisting at STEAM camps. This is her third summer with the library.
Katie works as an intern in the Public Services Department and helps out wherever she is needed. She has prepared crafts and activities for youth events, assisted in the Play & Learn, Stories & More, and Pack-A-Sack events. Other projects she enjoys helping out with include preparation for Lights Out and Dial-A-Story. She would like to say that she is very grateful for this opportunity and so fortunate to meet many wonderful people!
Meet Kamui (Kam)!
This is his first time working in a library! Primarily he’s helped with Strawbees and Animal Mad Libs lesson planning and presentation. He mainly focuses on doing presentations for the library, but he has also assisted in the move over to the Exchange. In addition, he has also done a lot of counting and organizing, such as organizing the storage the Exchange and taking inventory of everything the Library has. Kam has also helped out at a Pack-a-sack and dressed up as a shark for Shark in the Park.
As a Public Services Intern, she has been able to help with and experience a little bit of everything at the library. Some days she is outside landscaping or helping with storytime and Pack-A-Sack, while other days she is inside crafting, conducting inventory, or even with dressing up as the Rainbow Fish! She is grateful to have had a summer filled with engaging projects and public service.
Future internship opportunities will be posted on the Employment page of the library website when they become available.
