Read Local

28 Mar Read Local

This year La Porte County Public Library invites the community to “Read Local” in a year long celebration of Indiana authors. The Read Local series offers neighbors a chance to read the same great stories and engage in stirring conversations.

Karen Day, a La Porte native, will kick off the Read Local series at the Main Library on Thursday, April 12th. She will discuss her first adult novel released in January 2018, I’ll Stay. Limited copies of I’ll Stay are available for free to the public, to enjoy and pass along to other readers in the community.

Upcoming Read Local Authors:

May 31 – Suzi Parron will describe her travels across the country to find vibrant barn quilts.

September 13 – Professor Matthew Weedman will talk about how Frankenstein has evolved in its 200 year history as part of Indiana Humanities’ One State/One Story.

October 4 – Lori Rader-Day, a Mary Higgins Clark Award Winning Author, will discuss her latest thriller Under a Dark Sky to be released this summer.
