16 Nov Belle Gunness Is Back At The Library!
Numerous talks about Belle Gunness, the infamous serial killer from La Porte County in the early 20th century, have been held at the library. This month she’s back again, in person! A humorous drama featuring her and Diana of the Dunes, another infamous woman from the county, will be held on Belle Gunness Day, Saturday, November 17, at the Main Library. The day will begin at noon in the Indiana Room where Bruce Johnson will answer questions and give information about Belle. Bruce is a well-known authority on her life and deeds and has even visited her hometown in Norway. Then at 1:00pm, the drama put on by Metamorphis Traveling Theatre will be held in Meeting Room B. The drama features Belle and Diana of the Dunes having tea together and discussing their diaries. The facts in the drama are true. It will end with a musical time in which attendees may sing and dance if they’d like. After the drama, at around 1:45pm, attendees may again go to the Indiana Room to get more questions answered by Bruce Johnson. There is no charge and registrations are not taken.
